LHYL members & friends,

Registration is NOW OPEN for NWC (NorthWest Corner) Summer Lacrosse.

We will again be offering 2 programs for men's summer lacrosse.

NWC Men's High School and up (U30)

for incoming 9th graders and older (Under 30) - on Tuesday nights.

NWC Men’s 30+ League (O30)

30 and older - on Wednesday nights.

Registration and payment are required before stepping on the field.

All groups are "pick-up" style, there are no coaches. Players show up, we throw sticks in a pile, split into two teams and play!

If we get a lot of players in a particular group, we go into 3 teams and do round-robin - 3 shorter games.

Games have a referee and representatives from LHYL are on hand to supervise.

Registration fee covers insurance, fields, paint, balls, referees, and custom NWC reversible pinnies.

Games go for 6-7 weeks with make-ups for rain-outs.

For starts, we are looking at:

“Old Men's" (O30) league starting on Wed, June 12.

Men’s High School+ (U30) starting on Tuesday, June 18.Games are played at Bantam Civic Association field on Route 209 in Bantam, 6:15PM start.

Players MUST also be a member of US Lacrosse, valid thru 8/14, ($35 for HS/U18, $55 for Over18) to cover insurance.  If you already renewed/joined for your spring team, you are still covered.  If the additional $ is a financial issue, email Jeff and we can work on registration fee.

Goalies are always needed and play for free.  Any and all goalies interested in playing and in a free registration should contact Jeff Porter.  Contact info below.

Note:  These are not “elite” leagues playing other clubs, nor instructional clinics.  They are designed as friendly, for-fun, summer games for rising high school athletes, college kids and adults of any skill level to have some fun, get a good workout in, and keep lax skills sharp.  A referee will strictly enforce rules, particularly prohibiting "take-out" checks, unnecessary roughness, etc.  Such activities will result in immediate expulsion from the program. All players must be in proper, legal equipment.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeff Porter;    860-483-0046

High School teams

We frequently get questions about our High School "club" teams.
Litchfield Hills offers both a boys and a girls high school lacrosse team for high school students from our area to be able to play. Many high schools in our immediate area do not offer lacrosse as a school sport. Additionally, students who may play a different spring sport for their school can still be able to play high school lacrosse. (Check with your school's athletics rules). Students in CIAC member schools may not, per CIAC rules, play lacrosse for their school team AND for our team.

We play against other club programs, and local private and public schools.
Players in our programs come from:
Housatonic Valley (offers a girls team)
Nonnewaug (has a boys club team like ours, but not girls)

Our teams are not "club teams" by today's definition (pay-to-play "elite" programs) - We are more like a park and rec type regional club team.

Go Hills!
